When you announce your event, your followers will be contacted with a mobile optimised HTML email and a push notification directly to their smartphones. It is important to note that only your organic followers (i.e. followers you have gained through ticket sales on Fatsoma) will receive the push notification, any followers you imported from an existing database will only receive an email notification.
